With 19 days to go until the election, President Donald Trump suggested NBC wouldn’t treat him fairly at a televised town hall on Thursday night, and he dismissed polls showing him trailing Joe Biden.

Meanwhile, Biden was expected to take part in a fundraising event on Thursday before his own ABC News town hall, which is slated to air at the same time as Trump’s event — 8 p.m. Eastern. The Democratic challenger’s campaign late Wednesday announced a record fundraising haul of $383 million for September, while Trump’s team hasn’t revealed its figure yet.

“I’m sure that’ll be fair,” Trump said on Thursday, using a sarcastic tone as he was asked about the upcoming NBC event in a Fox Business Network interview. The president also was asked by Fox Business host Stuart Varney if he will employ the same aggressive style that he had in last month’s chaotic debate when “faced with hostility” at Thursday night’s town hall.

“Well, you don’t change. I think I won the first debate,” Trump said.

During the interview with Varney, the Republican incumbent dismissed pollsters who generally show him trailing Biden, echoing his past criticism as he said: “The polls were wrong last time, and they’re more wrong this time.”

Trump while on Fox Business touched on the potential for tax cuts if he wins a second term, saying he may aim to lower the U.S. corporate tax rate to the “even number” of 20%, down from its current rate of 21%. The president also said, “All I want is a fair election,” when Varney asked him about what circumstances would lead him to concede to Biden.
