Sunday’s NCAA women’s basketball championship, in which LSU won its first title over Caitlin Clark and Iowa, was the most watched women’s March Madness game on record, ESPN announced Monday.
The game drew 9.9 million viewers, ESPN said, citing initial Nielsen ratings, with a peak of 12.6 million. Viewership jumped 103% year over year, according to Disney’s DIS,
Louisiana State, led by Final Four most outstanding player Angel Reese, put on an offensive showcase Sunday, routing Iowa and its record-setting scoring star Clark, 102-85.
UConn will play San Diego State in the men’s championship game Monday night.
